Title: Development Support Engineer

Description: Working as part of a small development team, this key role provides the technical interface between the Development Department and other functions within the Company. The Development Support Engineer will provide technical support for the introduction of new products to manufacturing, investigate and resolve problems encountered during the manufacturing, assembly & test processes and play an active technical & administrative role in the management and development of the company Hazardous Area Product range.
The role also involves providing support to Design Engineers, Project Engineers and site services personnel on a range of customer project-related issues, as well as communication with external certification bodies and the company Business Management System Manager.
Essential requirements: Experience of production assembly and test of electronics, wiring and enclosures
Experience of the generation and controlled change of production and test documentation
Experience of investigation and resolution of production problems in electronic systems.
Good understanding of mechanical design of enclosures and wiring systems
Good understanding of electronic design
Good technical communication skills.
Desirable skills/abilities:
Experience of hazardous area equipment
Experience in a development support role
Experience in a production engineering role
Experience in an electronics systems test role
Understanding of embedded software systems
